Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law
Partner Organization Referral Program
This referral link is intended for partner agencies that have a signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Buhai Center. Partner agencies should use the link to refer clients who meet the eligibility requirements established under the executed MOU.
Submission of a client referral does not establish or create an attorney-client relationship between the Buhai Center and the client.

How We Help:
With the help of volunteers, the Buhai Center provides free family-related legal assistance and legal education to low-income people who need help solving legal problems involving child custody, spousal and child support, parentage, and restraining orders.
We assist low-income people who can show they:
- have limited funds, with proof of their income, and
- live in Los Angeles County, and
- have a family or domestic violence problem.
The kinds of cases we handle include:
- Determining custody and visitation rights of children
- Obtaining restraining orders protecting people
- Collecting child support
- Establishing parentage for unmarried parents
- Obtaining a divorce
- Establishing rights to community and separate property
- Collecting spousal support
