Prestigious Family Law Organization Recognizes Center Executive Director

The Northern California Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) awarded Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law Executive Director Betty Nordwind with the 2014 De Goff and Sherman Award for her significant and meaningful contributions to family law in California.

AAML noted several of her achievements, including helping to develop the self-help model of service at the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, improving the well-being of thousands of children living poverty and providing low-income families with meaningful access to the courts for nearly three decades, and inspiring countless others to volunteer their time and services for the greater good.

In further recognition and honor of Nordwind’s many achievements, AAML made a charitable contribution to the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law to support its programs and services. In her remarks, Nordwind paid tribute to the many Southern California Chapter of the AAML members and other lawyers who have supported the Center over the past 32 years, without whom, the work of the Center would not be possible.
