Board Member David Ettinger Fights for Fee Waivers, Honored in SoCal Super Lawyers Magazine
The Harriett Buhai Center staff extends a warm, and well-deserved, congratulations to board member David Ettinger for his featured profile in the Pro Bono section of Southern California Super Lawyers Magazine. Ettinger, a Center board member since 1997, is an appellate attorney practicing in Los Angeles who handles family law cases on appeal for the Center free of charge. Ettinger is featured in Super Lawyers Magazine for his pro bono work in the area of fee waivers. For poor persons, filing fees are a barrier to the courts. Ettinger has fought for fee waivers at the appellate level to right an individual wrong, and to establish precedent for future cases. Ettinger drafted comments and criticisms on behalf of the Center when the California fee waiver legislation was rewritten in 2008. The Center thanks him for his commitment to pro bono service and his continued efforts to fight fee waivers.
