Harriett Buhai Center: “A Place Where Learning Occurs”

Once again owing to support from its donors, the Center became a teaching academy for its full-time summer law student interns. “We are grateful for the funds we receive from our supporters to underwrite our law student program,” says Betty Nordwind, Executive Director.

Here are some of the students’ comments:

Alisa Wecker, the Trope Fellow from USC Gould School of Law, regarded the work as “extremely sophisticated,” and she valued her work here as “an opportunity to learn and grow as a practitioner.”

“I got much more client interaction than I even hoped for. I felt welcomed, needed and well-utilized.” –C.J. Bacon, USC Gould School of Law

“The Law Student Program is an amazing hands-on learning experience that makes you actually feel like an attorney. What I learned this summer could not be replicated in any classroom.” –Anastasia Barmaxis, Southwestern Law School

“By interning here, I see just how important all of the details, rules and policy considerations are that I’ve been learning at school.” –Lauren Hopkins, Southwestern Law School
